If you major in nursing at UCLA, when your done with your 4 years.....?

Im wondering if you choose an RN Nursing major when you apply to UCLA and if you get in will you get a Bachelors degree in Nursing and does that mean your a nurse right after the four years you went to school as a nursing major? Or do you have to earn that degree in nursing and then go to a nursing school??? Im so confused!

serigonando 		after your education you have to take the NCLEX-RN test ..and to take that test you have to show your diploma .then your a RN ..you can take the test with a associates degree from a community college as well but it depends on if your only goal life is a associates degree or whether or not you want your masters and move on..for example if you want your master they require a bachelors

maximus 		You still have to pass the state test, but that 4 years of school majoring in nursing IS nursing school.

george 		when you graduate with a BSN, you are automatically an RN. so you just need to pass the state NCLEX exam and then you're a registered nurse as soon as you pass the exam!!! Just so you're clear, an associates RN degree only takes 2 years to complete, which is why you are more likely to get hired if you have a BSN rather just an associates RN license.

jennifer 		Getting a BSN is what you get for going to nursing school. Then you have to make the state happy so they will give you a license.

pauloroberto 		If you finish the 4 year Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree you will be eligible to take the Registered Nurse exam; NCLEX. If you pass, you will then be eligible to get your RN license from the state.
